The Alexander Technique  is an experiential learning method for improving integrative-cognitive awareness in movement while conducting the activities of daily living. Through the experiential teaching, one cultivates the ability to reduce the excessive unnecessary tension and effort that are associated with movement difficulty and discomfort, pain, stress or anxiety.   The teaching approaches movement as a dynamic mind-bio-physical unity and aims at the mind regulation of habitual-automatic-unconscious behavior in movement.
